Odysseus has been gone for 20 years
While I, Penelope shred in tears
I do not feel well
Although my husband is being put through HE--
I miss him so much
No one can describe a feeling of such
Odysseus is my king
But I’m being forced to give up my ring
I do not wish to remarry
For no one in Ithaca is as worthy
The suitors from Ithaca take advantage of me
Without Odysseus, I see death upon me, Penelope
How do I make these suitors leave?
I am almost done with what I started to weave
I have started to unweave the cloth
But the suitors have found out the plan I have thought
Oh gods! Why have you punished me?
Please now let Odysseus see me
